MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (KAIT) - A Mountain Home man is behind bars after a social media tip led to his arrest.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, Jamey Darren Roof was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a home on County Road 605. Montgomery said the sheriff's office was tipped off about where Roof was by Facebook message.

A warrant for Roof's arrest was obtained after investigating two separate thefts reported to the sheriff's office in July. A total of two chainsaws and a weedeater were taken from two different residences.

Investigators say Roof pawned the items at a pawn shop in Mountain Home.

His bond was set at $8,861 on charges of felony breaking or entering, theft of property and non-payment of fines.

Roof appears in court Thursday.
