WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) - Two proposals aimed at keeping a Lawrence County hospital open have passed.
According to the Lawrence County Clerk's Office, voters overwhelmingly approved both proposals on Tuesday.
One of the proposals will continue a half-cent sales tax for the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. The other will add a half a cent more to the sales tax.
Besides having a convenient emergency room in a small town, the hospital is the county's largest employer.
