Animal Control promotes "Safe Kids and Safe Pets"

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  Jonesboro Animal Control hosted "Safe Kids and Safe Pets" day which included low-cost pet care and games for the kids on Saturday.

Animal Control along with Northeast Arkansans for Animals offered rabies shots for dogs and cats for $10. Pet owners could also pay $20 for micro-chipping.

Sgt. Larry Rogers with animal control says there have been no rabies cases in Craighead County and he wants to keep it that way. "It's also the community gives to us all the time and it's an opportunity for us to give back to the community."

Jonesboro Police, firefighters and D.A.R.E. officers were also there. The Hospital Wing helicopter also flew in to surprise the visitors.
