* Empty and refill pets' water bowls every few days

* Repair failed septic systems

* Repair leaky outside faucets

* Clean rain gutters and down spouts

* Secure swimming pool covers tightly and remove any standing water after rainfall

* Store wheelbarrows, canoes and boats upside down
