Lyon Athletics looking to sign 2013-14 boosters

BATESVILLE, Ark. ( – The 2013-14 sports season is close at hand and Lyon College Athletics is looking to increase its membership in athletics booster club for the coming year, said Lyon Director of Athletics Kevin Jenkins. The membership drive is underway, with a number of levels available.

"With the plans to begin football, along with men and women's wrestling in the next two years, we're hoping that booster club membership reaches an all-time high this year," Jenkins stated. "We're excited about the what is ahead for our athletic programs, and we want to include more people as we grow, while our programs continue to improve and play for championships here in the American Midwest Conference.

"Last year we had three teams – men's soccer, women's basketball and baseball – which were ranked in the NAIA Top 25 at some point in the season and we experienced one of our most successful years overall.

"Booster Club membership not only includes benefits those who become involved, but it's a way to give back to Lyon College Athletics. Expenses continue to rise each year and we appreciate those who want to get involved and watch us improve and support our programs through this club."
