BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) – The Brooklyn City Hall was the place to be this afternoon.

City representatives are working with Absolute Care Management to host a monthly luncheon at the city hall for senior citizens. Jana Wineland with Absolute Care Management says they decided to put this together because some local seniors are isolated.

"The community here is small.  They don't have a lot of access to go into Jonesboro, Paragould.  They needed a place to come hang out and meet each other," Wineland said.

Brookland seniors got together for some good food, games and prizes. Norma Hays of Brookland said she is thrilled that the luncheons have started.

"I think it's a great opportunity for all the senior citizens of Brookland to get together and get to visit with each other and have a good lunch," Hays said.

The luncheons will take place on the third Tuesday of every month at the Brookland City Hall.
