Cleveland Police arrest suspect accused of shooting at detective

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Cleveland Police Officers have arrested a 31-year-old man they say shot at an on-duty police detective while he was investigating a burglary.

It happened Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. at E. 121st Street and Luke Avenue in Cleveland.

Officers say the CSI Unit Detective was shot at multiple times while standing at his police department vehicle. 

The detective returned fire, but the suspect was not hit. The detective was also not injured.

The suspect fled the scene and was arrested by Cleveland Police Officers without incident late Wednesday morning in the 10000 block of Harvard Avenue.

The suspect is currently being held in the Division's Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.
