Man shot outside East Nashville apartment complex

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A college student was shot outside an apartment complex in East Nashville late Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old student was waiting for a ride at an apartment complex at 1500 Porter Rd. when he was approached by a robber, who shot the student in the leg before fleeing.

Metro police received the call that shots were fired in the area about 11 p.m. but could not find a victim. Police found one bullet casing in the area.

The victim found a ride to Skyline Medical Center for treatment for the bullet wound that entered his inner thigh.

The victim told police the robber got scared off and shot.

Police report there is a person of interest in the case. The victim is expected to be OK.
