Poinsett Co. man in hospital after weekend shooting

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating a weekend shooting that happened in Marked Tree sending one man to the hospital.

Lt. Brant Tosh tells Region 8 News Arkansas State Police is assisting sheriff's departments after a 46-year-old man was shot on Arkansas Highway 118 near the Poinsett/Mississippi County line.

The Poinsett County Sheriff's Department is leading the investigation.

The Poinsett County man was airlifted to a local hospital. His condition and name have not been released.

A person of interest has been arrested. The name of that person has not yet been released.
