EDEN HALL, MN (FOXSportsNorth.com) - Receiver Greg Childs just couldn't make it all the way back in time to start the regular season for the Minnesota Vikings.
Childs, who suffered tears to the patellar tendon in both of his knees in training camp last year, was placed on the regular-season physically unable to perform list by Minnesota on Tuesday, meaning he will miss at least the first six games of the season. The move gets the Vikings to the 75-man roster limit before Tuesday's 3 p.m. Central time deadline.
Childs has been working to recover from the devastating injury. He hasn't returned to practice, but he has been working out with the teams athletic trainers and strength staff on the side fields at practice. Childs is running and ran the hills at the team's facility at Winter Park last week during the team's practice.
