Life in prison for convicted antifreeze killer

The woman convicted of killing her fiance with antifreeze has been sentenced to life in prison. Holly McFeeture will be eligible for parole after 30 years.

McFeeture was found guilty of killing Matthew Podolak by putting antifreeze in his iced tea.

She did not speak at the sentencing, even though she was given the opportunity. McFeeture's attorney tells 19 Action News she did not speak on his advice for a future appeal.

McFeeture's lawyers wanted a new trial, or at least a delay in her sentencing, but a judge ruled against the requests.

McFeeture complained to the court about a former boyfriend who helped convict her. Court records show he was a jailhouse snitch in another murder case, but prosecutors didn't reveal that.

McFeeture's lawyers argued there was is not enough evidence - even after a full trial and jury conviction.
