Inaugural season for WBC Lady Eagles Soccer kicks off Friday

From Williams Baptist College

The latest addition to the Williams Baptist College athletic program will lean on a young, but talented roster for its first season of competition.

The new addition of the Lady Eagles Soccer team marks the first time in 16 years that Williams has expanded the athletic program. "The girls seem to be excited about becoming the inaugural squad at WBC. They are making history," said Head Coach Shane Stolz.

Stolz will lead the Lady Eagles from the sidelines in their inaugural campaign. He is also the coach of the men's soccer team.

The Williams roster has one senior, Carolina Vela, four juniors, and eleven freshmen. "We are very young, but I have been pleased with the ladies' attitudes each day at practice," said Stolz.

The Lady Eagles have been on campus working on pre-season training for three weeks. The team opens its season on August 30 at 3:30 p.m. against University of the Ozarks. The game will be played at Walnut Ridge on the WBC Soccer Field.
