BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A mother and her boyfriend were arrested Thursday after they were accused of hitting a 6-year-old boy with a paddle.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, Andrea Victoria Krupp, 33, and Richard Garrett House, 35, are being accused of hitting the boy with a paddle almost two inches think, over 21 inches long, and over 3 inches wide. Investigators said the paddle was made out of a two-by-four and is being used as evidence.
The babysitter reported the mother and her boyfriend after she found bruising on the boy's face, arms, chest, buttocks, and legs.
Investigators also said they believe the boy had been slapped. After several interviews, an affidavit was submitted to a Prosecuting Attorney.
Both Krupp and House face a felony charge on domestic battery in the second degree.
They were both released from the detention center after they posted a $5,000 bond.
They are scheduled to appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court on September 5.
