Vendors Say Take the Time to Head to "Back of Fair"

Jonesboro, AR--Most people head to the fair for the rides and the fine cuisine.  But for a select few fair time means it is time to go to work.  These people can vary from bowling promoters like Chris James or people like Glenn Bridatwell, a member of the American Legion.

 

“We are all volunteers,” Bridatwell says. “We are not getting anything for it.”  For the American Legion fair time is also their fundraising time.   The only fundraiser they hold all year long.  The money from their local raffle goes to provide children the opportunity to go to camp or play sports.

 

For Chris James fair time means something different.  He is an avid bowler and loves volunteering his time to promoting the sport.  He says he used to be close to the action around the fair but didn’t care for it too much.  “Out there it’s fair goers,” He said, “in here you can be more one on one and personal.”

 

So while most people find the action of the fair to be outside, these men say to step inside for the real action behind the scenes of the fair.
