Convocation Center to hold Freedom of Information Act Roadshow

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -   The Arkansas Attorney General's office wants to make sure you understand your right to information.

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and the Arkansas Press Association are hosting a Freedom of Information Act Roadshow Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Convocation Center.

Aaron Sadler, spokesman for the Attorney General's Office, said they hold these FOIA forums to make sure everyone is informed.

"We find that people have a lot of questions about FOIA and that's what we're there to address.  We have experts from our office who study FOIA and know it cover to cover and they are able to answer any question you might have about the Freedom of Information Act."

"By knowing the Freedom of Information Act, by understanding it, it makes for better informed citizens and that in turn makes for a better government," said Sadler.

A panel of experts will be on hand to answer questions. The meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is free with pre-registration required.
