PATTERSON, LA (WAFB) -

A 17-year-old girl faces a drug charge after a picture on a social media site led to an investigation.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said Mikayla Rock, 17, of Patterson, was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with possession of marijuana. She was issued a summons to appear in court and released.

According to SMPSO, a detective with the narcotics division saw a picture of people with marijuana on a social media site and began an investigation.

Reports indicate the detective learned the drugs were at a home in Patterson. Deputies reported they found Rock and the drugs at the home.

A picture of the suspect was not provided because she was not booked into prison.

No further details were available.
