Sikes scores first goal in WBC Lady Eagles soccer history
Walnut Ridge, Ark. (WBCEagles.com) – The Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles fell to Central Baptist College on Tuesday by a score of 5-1. The game was played in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
Cynthia Sikes scored the first goal in Lady Eagles soccer history as she raced down the field and beat the keeper to the ball. Sikes then slid the ball into the empty net to cut CBC's lead to 2-1 in the first half.
"These girls keep improving. We are very young but Cindy's goal was a perfect example of the determination on this squad. It was a team goal," said Head Coach Shane Stolz.
Tarra Hendricks led CBC with a hat trick and Jessica Wisnor also contributed with two goals for CBC.
Hunter Links contributed with 13 saves for WBC.
Williams has a record of 0-2 in its first season of collegiate competition in women's soccer.
The next game for the Lady Eagles will be against Bacone College. The game will be played at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 7th in Walnut Ridge.
