Concussion safety an issue as high school football kicks off

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- As high school footballseason kicks off Friday, players will make and take hits to the head just ashard as a college or professional player.

In lieu of NFL's $765 million concussion lawsuit last week, some parents areconcerned about their child playing football. The settlement applies to allpast NFL players and spouses of those who are deceased.  The settlementset aside $75 million for medical exams and $10 million for medical research.

Veronica Smith talks to a local coach about what precautions they take to keeptheir players safe and how certain hits are off limits in high school football.
