WBC Women's Soccer falls to Bacone

From Williams Baptist College

The Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles were defeated by Bacone College by a score of 8-1 on Saturday at the WBC Soccer Field.

Marlo Stacy led the Eagles attack by putting away a goal in the 16th minute on a rebound from her previous shot attempt to beat the diving keeper and give WBC a 1-0 advantage. This was the first lead in Lady Eagles soccer history.

"Marlo is a hard worker and always gives 100 percent.  Her goal was a model of keeping with it and getting the rewards," said Head Coach Shane Stolz.

Injuries would then plague the Lady Eagles, as Williams was forced to go down to ten players at the end of the first half, and eventually down to as low as eight players for the rest of the game. Bacone then took full use of the advantage to score against the Eagles.

Bacone was led by Mireya Navas and Demi Barai who each scored two goals apiece. Kristi Chase and Marisa Levine also contributed with two assists respectively, with Chase tallying a goal of her own.

Hunter Links and Hailey Norris each had eight saves for WBC. The next game for WBC is against the Golden Lions of UAPB. The game is scheduled for a 6 pm start in Pine Bluff.
