Mollie Arnold has 15 kills to lead Harding to win over Union
JACKSON, Tenn. (HardingSports.com) – The Harding volleyball team defeated Union 3-1 on Tuesday in non-conference action. The Lady Bisons improved to 2-3 on the season.
Senior outside hitter Mollie Arnold had a match-high 15 kills to lead Harding. Senior middle blocker Alyssa Short had a season-high 13 kills on 20 attempts and one error for a match-high .600 hitting percentage.
As a team, HU had 45 kills on 107 attempts and a season-low 14 errors for a season-high .290 hitting percentage. Harding also had a season high 14 service aces, led by junior outside hitter Marindia Turner who had a career-high five. It was the most service aces since Harding had 15 against Henderson State last season.
Union (1-4) was led by Deja Moorer who had 11 kills. The Lady Bulldogs defense was led by Lydia Wright had 14 digs and Elise Seufert had 13 digs.
The Lady Bisons forced Union to 24 hitting errors. The Lady Bulldogs also had 13 service errors.
Harding will be back in action this weekend as they take part in the North Alabama Tournament in Florence, Ala. On Friday, the Lady Bisons will face Christian Brothers at 8 a.m., and Missouri-St. Louis at 4 p.m. Harding will finish the tournament on Saturday playing Missouri S&T at 2 p.m., and Northwood at 6 p.m.
