Jonesboro man pleads guilty to aggravated robbery

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man accepted a plea deal Monday in relation to his aggravated robbery charge, according to the 2nd Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Justin Cobb, who was charged with multiple counts of aggravated robbery, plead guilty to one count of aggravated robbery and no contest to two other counts of aggravated robbery.

Police said Cobb was suspected of robbing convenience stores and Dollar General stores.

Cobb is also suspected of robbing Liberty Bank in April, 2013. A federal grand jury indicted Cobb for the bank robbery. The maximum penalty for bank robbery is 35 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Cobb said he committed several robberies because he was high on drugs and did not have any money.

Cobb will be sentenced on September 10, 2014.
