NEA Political Animals holds first meeting

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Northeast Arkansas Political Animals group held its first meeting today at the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce. Former Congressman Asa Hutchinson was the guest speaker.

"What a great opportunity for a political candidate to get their message out," Hutchinson said. "My second reaction is what a great opportunity for a candidate to stumble. And of course, that's the nature of this political animals club."

John Freeman of the Chamber said today's turnout shows how the group is meeting the political need in this area.

"I think it shows a need for this type of opportunity to share on the political front and not be partisan.  Everybody can come together and have opportunities to express their own political beliefs," Freeman said.

The group is open to all political animals of all stripes. Their next meeting will be held Oct. 4.
