Football fans’ cars broken into during games in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Whilepeople in Perrysburg were cheering on their favorite teams during footballgames, someone else was staking out the parking lot and smashing car windows.

Lastweek, there were five car break-ins at the junior high parking lot. Accordingto police reports, one woman’s car window was busted and she lost $460 worth ofmerchandise from her vehicle.

“I’msurprised because we don’t have any problems with that around here,” said AnnMotter, who lives nearby. “We haven’t heard anything that there is an issue.”

Policeissued a statement last month after thieves broke into cars parked on SixthStreet, saying it’s important for drivers to take valuables out of the car,park in lit areas, and lock the doors.
