Football fans’ cars broken into during games in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

While people in Perrysburg were cheering on their favorite teams during football games, someone else was staking out the parking lot and smashing car windows.

Last week, there were five car break-ins at the junior high parking lot. According to police reports, one woman’s car window was busted and she lost $460 worth of merchandise from her vehicle.

“I’m surprised because we don’t have any problems with that around here,” said Ann Motter, who lives nearby. “We haven’t heard anything that there is an issue.”

Police issued a statement last month after thieves broke into cars parked on Sixth Street, saying it’s important for drivers to take valuables out of the car, park in lit areas, and lock the doors.
