Woman pleads guilty to helping plan UT student's murder

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A woman accused of helping plan the New Year's Eve murder of a University of Toledo student appeared in front of a judge Monday morning.

Toledo Police say Ashley Hundstrucker, 23, along with Kevin Brooks, 23, and Daquaine Booth, 25, fatally shot Brian Minley, 25. They say the three suspects planned to rob Minley by arranging to buy marijuana from his home on Berdan Avenue.

In court, Hundstrucker pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit involuntary manslaughter. Judge Dean Mandros set her next courtroom appearance for early October.

Brooks has taken a plea deal. He faces three to 11 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.

Prosecutors say Booth was behind the drug-related murder. He is set to go to trial Sept. 30.
