ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Ifit sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That was the case in Adrian, where North Face jackets being sold at a major discount turned out to becounterfeit.

Aman tried to sell the counterfeit items out of his trailer over the weekend. Hecalled it a 1-day sale and advertised the event in the local paper.

AdrianPolice investigated after receiving tip that the jackets, hats and gloves werecounterfeit. They immediately shut the site down.

"Ifyou're being North Face, it should be real," said Deputy Chief Laurence VanAlstine. "You should be getting what you paid for, and North Face should bepaid for the product they're putting out."

VanAlstine says if the products had been real, the total cost of everything policeseized would be more than $146,000. The suspect would have sold it for justover $43,000 if he sold everything at the prices he advertised.
