Evidence Sent for Testing in Region 8 Woman's Disappearance

SEPTEMBER 24, 2004 - Posted at 4:16 p.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Agents investigating the disappearance of 22-year-old Rebekah Gould sent evidence to the state crime lab today.  A state police spokesman said the agents don't believe Gould left her home or her friend's home on her own accord.  But Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said investigators have no reason to suspect foul play.

Gould was last seen Monday morning in Melbourne after she visited her friend in Guion.  She was a student at a Fayetteville junior college.  Her purse containing her keys and money was found in her car at her friend's house.

State Police are investigating Gould's disappearance while local law enforcement, the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and other volunteers have continued a search.  They have used dogs and a helicopter to canvass areas around Guion in Izard County.
