Police arrest radio host on harassment, stalking allegations

According to the police affidavit, Matthews is in custody on harassment and stalking allegations. According to the police affidavit, Matthews is in custody on harassment and stalking allegations.

(WMC-TV) - Memphis radio host Thaddeus Matthews was arrested at his studio around 8 p.m. Monday, accused of harassment and stalking.

Police say Matthews was driving around a woman's home late at night, taking pictures, and posting them to Facebook, along with her address.

In the affidavit of complaint, the victim also describes an incident over the weekend in which Matthews was at her home taking pictures while someone else who lived there was being arrested.

Action News 5 sorted through Matthews' Facebook page and found that the person taken into custody that night was Matthew's ex-girlfriend.

After posting a $5,000 bond, Thaddeus Matthews had this to say:

"Am I controversial? Yes. But this is crock, totally crock," he said. "I don't have time to be driving by stalking no woman."

Matthews was once involved with Towanna Murphy, who has been in jail since Friday. She was arrested after Matthews led bounty hunters her way on an outstanding for skipping bail. They were details that Matthews posted on Facebook.

Murphy's friend, Brenda Askew, subsequently filed a police report claiming Matthews had been harassing Murphy.

Matthews says Askew is just mad at him because he has been investigating her non-profit organization. He said police never even asked to interview him.

This is Matthews second arrest in one year. There is still a case pending in court from November in which he is accused of posting child pornography to his Facebook page in what he describes as an attempt to catch the person responsible.
