Man seriously injured in semi vs. truck crash

WOOD COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a semi read-ended his truck on southbound I-75 in Wood County, according to the Ohio Highway State Patrol.

The accident happened at 5:05 a.m. just north of the Wooster Street exit. State Patrol says 59-year-old Arthur Watson, of Huber Heights, was driving his pickup truck southbound on I-75. The driver of the semi, 41-year-old Brent Waddell of Macomb, Michigan, was also driving southbound.

State Patrol says Waddell rear-ended Watson with his semi. Both vehicles went into the median.

Watson was Lifeflighted to the hospital with serious injuries. Waddell was not injured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Southbound I-75 was closed for two hours as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
