More than $2M in cocaine and black tar heroin hidden in truck's cab

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two men from California are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 42 pounds of cocaine and 2 pounds of black tar heroin, worth $2,072,000, following a traffic stop in Wood County Monday.

Troopers stopped a 2010 Freightliner tractor-trailer with California registration for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike, heading eastbound near milepost 72 around 1:15 p.m. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the commercial vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the contraband concealed in the cab of the truck.

The driver, Bobby Robinson II, 24, of Carson, CA, and passenger, Christopher Bustamante, 31, of Montebello, CA, were incarcerated in the Wood County Justice Center. They have been charged with possession and trafficking in cocaine and heroin, which are first-degree felonies, as well as possession of criminal tools, which is a fifth-degree felony.

If convicted, each man could face up to 41 years in prison and up to a $82,500 fine.
