FAYETTEVILLE (ArkansasRazorbacks.com) – The University of Arkansas and the Southeastern Conference announced the addition of four television games for the 2013-14 Razorback women's basketball season today.
Arkansas will have four SEC games picked up as part of the league's regular season package as well as all the games of the SEC Tournament. More televised games are expected after the Razorbacks announce their CSS games as well as other games from regional affiliates.
"We are always excited about the opportunity to play in front of large audiences in the gym and on television," Arkansas head coach Tom Collen said. "The four games that the SEC has elected to televise as part of their package are against some of the best teams in the nation and we are excited for the challenge and for the chance to showcase our team and program to the country."
This year's television schedule begins with a trip to Georgia Jan. 16. The game with Georgia is scheduled to air on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) at 6 p.m. central.
Arkansas then has back-to-back road games on television with contests at Kentucky Jan. 26, and at Tennessee Jan. 30. The game in Lexington, Ky., is part of the conference-wide "We Back Pat" week raising awareness for Alzheimer's. The game in Knoxville, Tenn., tips at 6 p.m. with the Lady Vols. The last time Arkansas was at Tennessee and on TV, the Razorbacks picked up the program's first-ever road win over the Lady Vols in overtime.
Both of those games are scheduled to air on SportSouth (SPSO) which includes FS Southwest, FS Midwest and Sun Sports.
The final regular season game that will air as part of the SEC TV package is a road game at South Carolina Feb. 9. It ends the streak of four consecutive SEC road television appearances. That contest will air on SEC TV.
The 2014 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament also returns to the airwaves with games airing on the Fox Network, SportSouth and ESPNU.
