BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) –A Baxter County man was arrested for the second time this month on felony drugcharges.
The Baxter County Sheriff'sOffice responded to a complaint that a man was slumped over the steering wheelof a pick-up truck Wednesday.
A deputy arrived at the sceneon Baxter CR 625 and spotted the vehicle. According to officer, the driverappeared to be passed out.
As the deputy approachedthe truck, "he saw a loaded syringe in the right hand of the driver." The manwas identified as Ben Gary Dacus, 29, who had previous been arrested on Sept. 9for outstanding felony drug warrants and was out on bond.
Dacus admitted to thedeputy that the syringe contained methamphetamine. During a search of the vehicle,officers discovered 0.4 grams of meth, three hydrocodone pill, syringes, adigital scale, two glass pipes and other paraphernalia. A loaded pistol wasalso found in the truck.
Dacus was taken to the BaxterCounty Dentition Center. He was charged with simultaneous possession of drugsand firearms, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IIcontrolled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dacus is being heldon a $25,000 bond and will appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court onSept.26.
