Commission to Tackle Racism in the Bootheel

PORTAGEVILLE, MO - The DAEOC Community Action Agency will host a diversity forum addressing the issue of racism in the Missouri Bootheel.

The event's keynote speaker will be Willie Epps, Jr. of the Epps Law Firm, and a former Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the U.S. Air Force.  Several panelists will also participate.

The forum will happen from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University of Missouri's Rone Hall facility in Portagesville.

The event is sponsored by the Dismantling Racism Task Force associated with the DAEOC Community Action Agency to accentuate the problem of racism in the Bootheel.  DAEOC is a non-profit community action agency with a mission to provide appropriate programs and services that effectively assist residents in their goals to achieve self-sufficiency.
