Toledo officer involved shooting, one man in custody

A man was shot by a Toledo police officer late Friday night, according to the Toledo Police Department.

It happened around 11:45 p.m., at a home on the 1900 block of Airline Avenue.

Police say a woman called 911 saying her husband had a gun and she needed help from police. The call was then disconnected.

Officers Kevin Toney and Kellie Kenney were dispatched to the home.

Police say the husband, 53-year-old Steven Hall, was spotted by police and told to put down his firearm.

According to officers, Hall went further into his home where officers could not see him, reappearing with the firearm in hand.

Officer Toney fired twice from the front porch, shooting Hall once in the leg. Hall was arrested and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hall is facing Felonious Assault on a Peace Officer, in addition to other charges. He is currently being treated in the hospital.
