IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – Izard County deputies arrested nine people last week on several drug charges.

According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, a Mountain home woman was charged on her court date Thursday, after deputies walked around the court parking lot with a K-9 partner. Jaimee Branscum, 21, returned to her car while it was being searched. Branscum told deputies she had two pipes and some marijuana in the driver's door pocket.

Residue on one of the pipes tested positive for methamphetamine and Branscum was taken to the Izard County Jail.

She was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

A minor was arrested Monday after deputies found his car parked in an empty Melbourne gas station. Officers found a smoking device on the minor that ended up testing positive for marijuana. Officers also found what they believed were two bags of synthetic marijuana, which were sent to the crime lab for testing. The minor is currently in the custody of his mother.

Both a man and a woman from Dolph were charged Wednesday after deputies claimed they were publicly intoxicated from drugs, during a traffic stop. Both posted bond and were given court dates.

Kevin Michael Geake, 29, was arrested in Horseshoe Bend for public intoxication from drugs and possession of a controlled substance.

He is being held in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $2,540 bond.

Three people were arrested near Mt. Pleasant after a deputy and his K-9 partner discovered drugs during a traffic stop. Deputies arrested Rodney Medling, 38, Lindsey Michelle Carter, 20, and Amber Dawn Wilson, 35, after they found a green leafy substance and a crystallized substance in the car.

Both Wilson and Medling were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.

Carter was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The three are being held in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Jerry Lewis, 21, was arrested after a probation/parole relating to a breaking or entering charge, and theft of property. Lewis is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility, where he waits for trial on a no bond status.
