Felony Charges Dropped Against Poplar Bluff Woman Accused of Child Endangerment

SEPTEMBER 28, 2004 - Posted at 7:20 a.m. CDT

POPLAR BLUFF, MO - Prosecutors have dropped felony child-endangerment charges against Starlette Clark of Poplar Bluff on the condition that she never works with small children again.

Clark was accused of leaving three-month-old Emily Eastwood alone in her home for nearly two hours on February 3.

Butler County prosecutor Kevin Barbour says he dismissed the charge at the request of the victim's family.  Eastwood was not harmed.

Clark has operated a state-licensed child care center at her home for about six years.  But her license is revoked and she has agreed that she will never again own or operate a day-care facility or work at any job involving small children.
