WALNUT RIDGE, AR - Lawrence County is stepping up its efforts to land "knowledge-based" industries. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce officials unveiled a new logo and marketing plan this morning in Walnut Ridge. Chamber of Commerce executive director Ted Moskal said the group is marketing the county aggressively, in order to offset job losses in the manufacturing sector.
The centerpiece of the effort to attract knowledge-based industries is the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport. The chamber and the airport commission have been working together to develop an "aviation cluster" of industries, and Moskal says industrial interest in the site has been encouraging.
Chamber officials say the new logo and marketing campaign will present a "unified and consistent image for Lawrence County as it continues to seek out industries tied to aviation, as well as automotive, pharmaceutical and other knowledge-based companies."
