TEXARKANA, AR (KSLA) -

Police say a Texarkana, Arkansas man who served time for murder was busted with several firearms Thursday by parole officers.

According to TAPD Officer Kristi Mitchell, Arkansas Parole Officer Hardy Sheppard, along with other parole officers, discovered several firearms in the residence of 43-year-old Troy A. Phillips during a random home inspection.

Texarkana, Arkansas police were called to the scene and arrested Phillips for six counts of Possessing a Firearm by Certain Person(s).

Police say Phillips was previously convicted of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  He has served 19 years in the Texas Dept. of Corrections before his release. Phillips parole was transferred to Arkansas because of his residency status.
