4-H national week of service kicks off with food drive

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -The 4-H group of Greene County kicked off their national 4H week with a One Day of Service Food Drive.

The items collected on Saturday were donated to three food pantries in Greene County. The statewide event brought in enough items to assemble 2,400 care packages last year, and the Greene County team was hoping to beat that number this year.

Team leader Mallory Clay says the One Day of Service event is a way for the group to say thanks and give back. "A lot of food drives have like baby formula and stuff for babies and toddlers and a lot of people don't think about that," said Clay. "That's something else to keep in mind too when you're shopping."

The Greene County 4H team was stationed at both Hays locations in Paragould and Cash Saver.
