JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Jonesboro Police have made an arrest in the Melrose Street shooting that occurred Sunday night.

Sgt. Doug Formon told Region 8 News that Mike C. Crockett, 25, of Jonesboro turned himself in to police on Monday.

He appeared in court on Tuesday where a judge set his bond at $500,000. He faces attempted murder charges.

According to Formon, officers were called to an apartment complex on Melrose Street around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in reference to a shooting.

Formon said the suspect pulled out the handgun in the middle of the parking lot and shot two people in the back during an argument. He said both victims were taken to St. Bernards to be treated.

Police do not know the condition of the victims.

Crockett is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center awaiting a probable cause hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
