Jonesboro police arrest passenger after they find marijuana in car

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Police arrested a Jonesboro man riding in the passenger seat of a car Sunday afternoon for drug charges.

According to a police report, Jonesboro police pulled over a car that did not have lights on his license plate on the intersection of Harrisburg road and Stroud.

The officer said he felt a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle during the traffic stop. When the officer asked, the driver claimed he had not been smoking but his passenger, Micah Gray, had been.

Gray,18, denied several times that he had been smoking. When he admitted to have been smoking he later claimed he did not have any with him.

Police searched the car and found a small baggie of marijuana on the door panel of the passenger side and a marijuana grinder on the backseat.

Micah Gray was arrested on misdemeanor charges for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $770 bond.
