JONESBORO, Ark. (AStateRedWolves.com) — The Arkansas State baseball program will hold its annual "Alumni Weekend" for former A-State baseball players and their families Oct. 11-12 in conjunction with the Red Wolves' football homecoming festivities throughout the weekend.
Head coach Tommy Raffo and the rest of the baseball program would like to encourage all former players and their families to come back and talk with former teammates.
The weekend kicks off Friday morning with the ASU Open golf tournament hosted by the Red Wolf Foundation at Sage Meadows Country Club. The event will kickoff at 9 a.m. and will feature an A-State Baseball Letterman division. To participate in the tournament or for more information contact Murray Watts at 870-972-2401.
The day will conclude with an event at Veno's Pizzeria in downtown Jonesboro where former players will have an opportunity to meet up with teammates and mingle before Saturday's homecoming festivities.
The annual alumni baseball game will start at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and is open to the public. The game will last 3-5 innings and will feature several former A-State lettermen Andy Ferguson, Daniel Wright, Michael Faulkner and others. A home run derby will be held prior to the start of the game.
