(GENERAL MOTORS/CNN) - General Motors unveiled a completely redesigned version of its Cadillac Escalade Monday night in New York City.
The luxury SUV shares most of its engineering and some of its design with the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon.
GM released new versions of those SUV's last month.
The new design's headlights are composed entirely of LED's with individual crystal lenses.
While it has a more powerful engine than the current Escalade, GM also promises better fuel economy.
Escalades are some of the most popular targets of criminals, which the redesign seeks to combat.
The new Escalade has intrusion sensors, glass breakage sensors and inclination sensors that can detect when the vehicle is being lifted or towed.
