Homicide 'cold case' reopened

INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

It's been nearly 20 years since the crime was committed, but Wednesday, Independence police were back on the trail of the murderer of Diana Ault.

Ault was 26 years old when she was found shot to death in her home located in the 19000 block of East Ninth Street-South in Independence.

The murder occurred on Jan. 31, 1994.

At the time of her death, Ault had an infant daughter and a toddler son. The two were found crying beside her body.

In an effort to find justice for the murder of Ault and help bring closure to her family, Independence police and her family said they're working together to encourage anyone who may have any information to please come forward.

Ault's family has arranged for a website and a Facebook account to be established, hoping anyone with information about her death will share that information.
