SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Humane Society of Sandusky County is taking care of the 15 animals rescued from an animal cruelty case in Woodville, but it needs help.

Following the rescue of 12 goats, 1 sheep and 2 cattle from Thomas Linke's farm, the Humane Society of Sandusky County is reaching out to the community for some help.

The dozen goats received a preliminary exam and are currently in the care of a large animal vet. All 12 animals had intestinal parasites.

The cattle are expected to be evaluated Friday.

The humane society animal cruelty investigator says Linke will be charged with 15 counts of animal cruelty after the investigation ends. Those charges accompany charges of assault on a police officer and obstruction of official business.

Usually tending to dogs and cats, the humane society is faced with a peculiar problem, and hopes the community can help give these animals the special care they need.

"If anybody is willing to donate hay or straw for bedding, stuff like that we could really use. If they wanted to get more involved in the medical care, they can always contact us to see what we need, or donate the money so we can get that," explained investigator Kelly Askins.

If you want to donate to help support the recovery of the animals saved, visit the Humane Society of Sandusky County or call 419-334-4517 to learn how you can help.
