Postponed fall festival raises money by engaging the Jonesboro community

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Saturdayfestival in Jonesboro got postponed to Sunday due to heavy rain but organizerswere not even able to tell.

The Valley View FallFestival was at the Valley View Ruritan Park and Pavilion. It was held to raisemoney for the technology department at Valley View High School.

Shelly Anderson helpedorganized the event and she did not expect the turn out they had.

"We really thought that it mightbe lower because it is a Sunday and that is family and church day," saidAnderson. "But we are amazed we have so many people out here we are doingfabulous we got 35 game booths that are hopping and we got inflatables that areliterally hopping our stage is blowing up and we are really having fun."

The fall festival ran from 1 p.m.to 4 p.m. and raised $12,000.
