WILSON, AR - A defendant that was 15 at the time of the crime he was charged with occured is to be tried as an adult.  The Arkansas Court of Appeals ruled yesterday that Julius Yankaway should be tried for capital murder in an adult court.

Yankaway is accused of the August 4, 2002, slaying of Mykitha Winder at a housing complex in Wilson.

Authorities say Yankaway was among three people carrying guns who kicked in the back door of a residence, ordered the occupants to get on the ground, and started firing.  Authorities say witnesses told them Yankaway was seeking revenge for a shooting incident at his father's house.
