Westside plans the future of district to pave way for the youngest students

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Westside is looking to its patrons to plan the future of the school district.

Monday night marked the first of three, "Westside Vision 2027" meetings.

Superintendent Bryan Duffie said they're looking that far ahead to pave the way for some of their youngest students. Duffie said school districts must realize they are in a competitive market.

"There are a lot of quality school districts in the state. And how do we make Westside an attractive choice for parents, students and people just moving to the area."

These meetings look at what students should know upon graduation as well as programs, facilities and technologies the school should add or tweak.

Other meetings are set to be held on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Elementary school and next Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the high school.
