PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A new trial date has been set for a New York man charged with making death threats on Twitter against two CNN Headline News anchors covering the Jodi Arias murder trial.

David Lee Simpson's trial is scheduled to begin Sept. 15 after it was postponed from a July 14 start and rescheduled for this week.

Simpson faces five felony counts for comments made toward Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell, both hosts of shows on Turner Broadcasting's HLN network who regularly covered the nearly five-month trial on national television.

Investigators said Simpson also threatened a Phoenix woman via Twitter.

Authorities extradited him to Maricopa County and a judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Arias was convicted of brutally killing her ex-lover Travis Alexander in 2008 in his Mesa home.
