Chamber of Commerce Preparing for Annual Meeting

JONESBORO, AR - The agenda is set for the 89th annual meeting of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.  The meeting is scheduled for next Thursday (Oct. 7) evening at 6:30 at the Arkansas State University Convocation Center.

A large portion of the meeting is expected to be devoted to honoring outgoing Jonesboro Mayor Hubert Brodell, who will retire at the end of his current term at year's end. 

The Chamber will also name its Goodwill Ambassador of the Year, while also presenting the Excellence in Agriculture Awards, and the Betty T. Sloan Promotion Award for the individual or group that has most promoted the city or worked to improve the community's image.  The Roy H. Jolly Volunteer Award will also be presented, while new and outgoing board members will also be recognized.

Tickets for the event are $27 and are available to Chamber members by calling 932-6691.
