Panama City, FL -

A Walton County judge has sentenced Steven Cozzie to death for the 2011 murder of 15-year-old Toombs girl Courtney Wilkes.

Cozzie showed no emotion as the judge read the sentence, but Cozzie's family broke down in tears.

A few rows back, Wilkes' parents embraced each other, then those around them.

Wilkes was on vacation with her family in the Florida panhandle when she was killed.

Her parents say the sentence gives them a little more closure, but they didn't take joy in it.

"I am relieved, but there are no winners here today," said Toni Wilkes, Courtney's mother. "We lost Courtney and we started serving our sentence two years and four months ago. I pray for our family, I pray for his family, but we have no winners today."
